Britannia Lanes are always on the lookout for ways to save energy and cut our carbon footprint. We support local organisations who try to do the same. The Energy Saving Trust recently launched a campaign to find the oldest fridge freezer in Devon. They wanted to highlight some shocking facts:
"Fridge freezers generally account for about 18% of the electricity that we use and nationally we spent about £2 billion on running them each year"
A very happy winner received an award-winning energy efficient Hotpoint model from Beacon Electrical. The winning entrant from Plymouth was a 1958 fridge freezer that still had its proof of purchase!
