A full container load (FCL) will normally take 8 to 13 weeks but not guaranteed. A groupage consignment (LCL) will normally take 10 to 14 weeks but not guaranteed. The guide price is subject to currency fluctuations and possible rises in freight charges. Rates exclude permits, customs duties and/or local taxes, storage, diversion, insurance, delivery above first floor, abnormal access, trans-shipments, pianos, second split delivery, Government wharfage taxes, extensive customs inspections, x-rays and/or agricultural inspection (if ordered) or fumigation (if ordered) and any subsequent quarantine charges.

Removals to Canada
Begin the process by contacting our international experts who will arrange for a surveyor to visit your home and begin coordinating all your requirements.
During the initial survey we will compile an electronic inventory of the items you wish to ship from your property. Our surveyor will be able to discuss the different options with you. It may be that you are anticipating a larger move and decide to ship a full container. On average, a 2 or 3 bedroom property will require a full 20ft container or a 4 to 5 bedroom house will likely fill a 40ft container. If we are using a container we will likely pack and load the items directly onto it from your home. Alternatives are available for smaller consignments, known as groupage. Groupage can range from one or two small boxes to a few items of furniture. These items will be export packed by Britannia Lanes and stored for consolidation with others in a full container - meaning you only pay for the space you use.

Our specialist export packing crew will package and box your personal items to the highest standard. Certain fragile and valuable items may require securing in tailor-made crates to ensure their safe transit.

For a groupage consignment expected delivery times would be between 10 to 14 weeks, although estimated timings cannot be guaranteed.
Arriving in Canada
Household contents that have been owned for over one full year can be shipped into Canada duty free. Once all of the relevant documentation and customs inspections have taken place our trusted Britannia agents can then carry out the final step - delivery to your new home!
