A full container load (FCL) will normally take 8 to 13 weeks but not guaranteed. A groupage consignment (LCL) will normally take 10 to 14 weeks but not guaranteed. The guide price is subject to currency fluctuations and possible rises in freight charges. Rates exclude permits, customs duties and/or local taxes, storage, diversion, insurance, delivery above first floor, abnormal access, trans-shipments, pianos, second split delivery, Government wharfage taxes, extensive customs inspections, x-rays and/or agricultural inspection (if ordered) or fumigation (if ordered) and any subsequent quarantine charges.

Moving to New Zealand
Before the survey, you should decide on the items you definitely want to move. If you have any items which you are uncertain will be selected for shipping please let us know and we can provide two quotations. One to include and one to exclude these items. A price comparison may assist in the decision making.
When moving a full household overseas there are two container options; 20ft or 40ft containers. If you are moving from a 2 or 3 bedroom property, you can expect to require a 20ft container. With a 4 or 5 bed property you are likely to require a 40ft container.
For smaller consignments we offer part loads (groupage) which will be consolidated at the Britannia Movers International headquarters in London. Groupage consignments give you the freedom to ship as little or as much as you would like and you only pay for the space required.
.Packing for New Zealand
Our surveyor will explain how our packing team will export-pack all of your furniture and box the smaller items. For items of high value, or that are particularly fragile, specialist crates may be required which we will build in-house.
Shipping to New Zealand
For shipments using 20ft or 40ft shipping containers your effects will normally be loaded at the collection address. In some circumstances properties with a restricted access may require a shuttle service with a smaller van. Alternatively, we may opt to load the container at our depot. Our surveyor will discuss the different options available and most suitable for you.
New Zealand Container Port
The paperwork required for moving to New Zealand can be overwhelming. At each of our depots we have a dedicated team who are able to assist you complete the forms - ensuring customs clearance is as straight forward as possible. New Zealand have strict quarantine regulations to prevent the introduction of unwanted pests and diseases. It is important to understand what is required before the packing is started. Arriving in New Zealand
When shipping a container, you can expect delivery in 8 – 13 weeks, and for a groupage consignment, you can expect delivery within 10 to 14 weeks. Timings are a guide and not guaranteed, however. When household effects have been owned for more than a year, they can be shipped to New Zealand duty free. Households items are generally subject to a physical inspection upon arrival to ensure they are not carrying any quarantine risk material. Following a physical inspection, it may be determined that some items may require treatment such as fumigation before they are released for entry. In a 'worst case scenario' some items may even be destroyed or ordered to be re-exported. The charges for fumigation or re-export are not included in our quotation. Once your shipment has been cleared by customs our overseas agents will arrange delivery of all door-to-door shipments.
