A full container load (FCL) will normally take 8 to 13 weeks but not guaranteed. A groupage consignment (LCL) will normally take 10 to 14 weeks but not guaranteed. The guide price is subject to currency fluctuations and possible rises in freight charges. Rates exclude permits, customs duties and/or local taxes, storage, diversion, insurance, delivery above first floor, abnormal access, trans-shipments, pianos, second split delivery, Government wharfage taxes, extensive customs inspections, x-rays and/or agricultural inspection (if ordered) or fumigation (if ordered) and any subsequent quarantine charges.

Removals to USA
The process, for us, always begins with understanding your requirements. To do this, we like to offer a free home visit from one of our dedicated surveyors. Select one of the links below so that we can set your journey in motion together.
Whilst our surveyor is with you a full electronic inventory of the items selected for shipping will be compiled; calculating an overall volume of your possessions. Ascertaining the volume enables our surveyor to support you in deciding the best options for you and your relocation. It may be that you only wish to transport key items of furniture, or a couple of small boxes filled with sentimental goods. In these circumstances it may be advisable to opt for shipping as part of a groupage consignment. We export pack these items and store them at our warehouse to be incorporated with a full container traveling to the USA. Alternatively you may prefer to relocate the majority of your household effects. On average, a 2 to 3 bedroom house may require a full 20ft container and a 4 or 5 bedroom property is likely to fill a 40ft container.
Packing for USA
Here at Britannia Lanes we have specialist members of the removal team to carry out Export Packing. They will box, package and in many instances use custom-built crates to further protect your valuable or fragile items during their transportation.
Shipping to USA
Once the packing is completed, all items will be labeled, listed and numbered. If your consignment requires a full container this will often by loaded straight from your property.
USA Container Port
Making sure you have all the relevant documentation in place can be daunting. Our team will assist with all the required paperwork and visas. When your effects have arrived at the nominated port they will be loaded onto one of the shipping lines. Customers can expect a door-to-door service of a full container to take between 8 and 13 weeks. Groupage consignments may take a little longer; approximately 10 to 14 weeks on average. Estimated times cannot be guaranteed.
Arriving in USA
Household shipments where items have been owned for 12 months or more are exempt from paying duty. Once customs have carried out their inspections, our elected Britannia agent will carry out the delivery to your new home.
